About Us
Travis Finlay (born April 8, 1994) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Miramar, Florida, he moved to Long Island, New York at the age of 10. Travis began singing before he could walk, mimicking melodies heard in church services as early as 14 months old. By age three, he was performing at local church events and became known in his community as “the little boy who sings.”
At age nine, Travis released his debut album, Jesus = Love (2003), which garnered regional acclaim. After relocating to New York in 2004, he emerged as a rising figure in the Caribbean-Gospel music scene, working under the mentorship of Jamaican singer Hopeton Lewis, who produced his second album Everybody Needs Jesus (2005). He followed up with three more gospel albums: Use Me Lord (2009), Highest Praise (2012), and 4U (2014).
In 2015, Travis auditioned for Season 14 of American Idol on FOX and was featured during the Brooklyn auditions, where he made history by receiving three golden tickets to Hollywood, earning him a national following. He returned for Season 18 of American Idol on ABC, which aired in early 2020, advancing to the Top 40 and performing in the Showcase Round in Hawaii.
That same year as his first appearance on Idol, Travis released his sixth studio album Phase II (2015), showcasing his skills as both a songwriter and producer. He followed with The Elements EP (2016), solidifying his signature sound—a fusion of soul, gospel, pop, and R&B.
In 2021, Travis co-wrote the Billboard #1 Gospel Airplay single “Speak,” performed by Angel Taylor of Trin-i-tee 5:7. He later achieved international chart success with two Top 5 UK Music Week singles: “Losing Control (StoneBridge Remix)” and “Move Your Body” (with Kim Sozzi, Franklin Torres, and Stephanie V).
Travis is a genre-defying artist whose work transcends categories—merging gospel, R&B, pop, and Caribbean roots into a sound that’s uniquely his own. He is a vocalist, storyteller, and visionary who brings passion and authenticity to every performance. As a digital architect and entrepreneur, Travis channels his creativity beyond the stage, building a multidimensional brand grounded in innovation, intention, and cultural impact.
